Felicia Holman is a native Chicagoan and, by trade, a certified personal trainer with the National Strength & Conditioning Association. However her lifelong affinity for performance and expression have helped sustain her prolific artistry. As a co-founder of Thick Routes Performance Collage (est. 2001) and Honey Pot Performance , Felicia’s artistic credits include ‘Bag Ladies: Carrying A Diaspora Colored Black’ (2001), ‘On My Table’ (2002), ‘Race Travels’ (2004),‘Househedz’ (2007), ‘The Ladies Ring Shout’ (2011) and ‘Price Point’ (2012) .
Venues and residencies include Links Hall (Chicago, IL), Northwestern University (Evanston, IL), University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, NC), Collaboraction (Chicago, IL), Experimental Station (Chicago, IL) and Defibrillator (Chicago, IL).
Felicia’s fundamental artistic process consists of deep reflection, play, collaboration and experimentation. With both TRPC and HPP, Felicia has enjoyed crafting evocative interdisciplinary performances that explore such notions as quality of life, gender, social justice and history.
